In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to deploy additional servers for your Jotelulu Remote Desktop (Multiserver) environment.
Jotelulu’s Remote Desktop service is the ideal way to provide access to your company’s applications through a secure working environment. However, as your company grows and the workload increases, you may find that you need additional servers.
In this tutorial, we’ll show you, step by step, how to deploy additional servers on your Remote Desktop subscription.
NOTE: This tutorial assumes that you have already deployed a Remote Desktop environment. If you haven’t done this yet, check out this tutorial: How to Create a Remote Desktop on Jotelulu.
How to Deploy Additional Servers on Your Remote Desktop (Multiserver) Environment
Before you begin
To successfully complete this tutorial, you will need:
- To be registered on the Jotelulu platform and have signed in with your username and password.
- To have deployed a Remote Desktop environment. For more information on setting up a Remote Desktop environment, see the following tutorial: How to Create a Remote Desktop on Jotelulu.
- To have registered an organisation with users so that you can link users to your environment and applications. If you don’t know how to do this, take a look at this tutorial for instructions: How to Register Users on Jotelulu.
Deploying an Additional Server on Your Remote Desktop Environment
First, sign in to the Jotelulu Platform and click on the card for the Remote Desktop subscription that you wish to work on (1).
Next, click on”Summary” (2) in the left-hand menu, and you will see a screen showing your subscription details, including:
- Users
- Applications
- Events.
- Servers available on the subscription.
Next, click on the “Servers” card (3).
On the next screen, you will see a card for each server deployed on your subscription. Clicking on a card will open up the settings for that server and allow you to make changes, such as increasing the RAM or CPU. To learn more about managing servers, check out this tutorial: How to Deploy a New Server on Jotelulu.
In this tutorial, we want to add a new server. To do this, click on “New Server” (4).
At this point, a new window will open asking you to enter the following details:
- Server name: (5) By default, the server is given a random name, but we recommend renaming it according to your organisation’s naming policy to help you easily identify your servers in the future.
- Concurrent Users: (6) This is the number of users that can use the Remote Desktop service simultaneously. Bear in mind that the cost of the service will depend on the number of users.
- Region: (7) The region in which you want to deploy the server, e.g., Spain, France, etc.
- Operating System: (8)
- Computing: (9)
- Disk: (10)
- Standard network: (11)
You’ll also see a drop-down section below called “Advanced Options” (12).
Once you have configured all these details, click on “Deploy Server” (13).
While your new server is being deployed, you will see several notifications to keep you informed of progress, but in the meantime, we recommend taking this moment to grab yourself a coffee.
While you’re waiting, if you click on “Servers” in the left-hand menu (14), the Servers screen will load again. You will see that a card for your new server has appeared and that its status is set to “Deploying”.
Finally, once the server has been deployed successfully, you will receive a notification (15) and the new server will have a green light and be shown as operational (16).
You have now successfully deployed your new server on your Remote Desktop subscription.
