How to configure TSPrint on your remote desktop
Before you get started
To successfully complete this tutorial and configure TSPrint on your remote desktop, you will need:
- To be registered with an organisation on the Jotelulu platform and have logged in.
- To have registered for a Remote Desktop subscription.
Part 1 – Reviewing the printers that you wish to map
Before you start, you need to know which local printers you are going to want to use on your remote desktop.
To do this, open the Control Panel and then click on Hardware and Sound > View devices and printers (1).

NOTE: Alternatively, you can type “TSPrint” in your search engine and find the page that way.
You will see two versions available to download. You should choose the Server version.
Part 2 – Download the Server version of TSPrint
Once downloaded, launch the installer as an administrator.
Next, select your desired language (4) and click on “OK”.
Part 2 – Select your desired language
In the next window, simply click on “Next”.
Part 2 – Terminal Works TSPrint welcome screen
Next, you need to accept the license agreement (5). As always, we recommend that you read it in full first.

Part 2 – Close the installer
Part 3 – Configuring TSPrint
Now that you have installed the program, you simply need to configure it correctly to achieve the best results and avoid any future printing issues.
To do this, locate the Terminal Works folder in your start menu and click on Server options.
In the window that appears, you need to first select how printers will be mapped for each user. Under the setting “Select default printer for all users” (8), choose “Select printer”. On the other side of the screen, you can choose which printer drivers TSPrint will use (9).
Part 3 – Configure the default settings
The next step is quite important as it will prevent the majority of problems that often occur in remote environments.
Click on the “Redirection” tab and tick the checkbox “Use Unique ID For Printer In Printer Name” (10). This will prevent random IDs from being generated for each session that could cause problems with the printer.
When you click on this checkbox, a message will appear saying, “Printer name with unique id instead of the session id may cause conflicts if users are logged into multiple sessions”. Simply click on “OK” (11).
Part 3 – Configure printer IDs
Lastly, it is important to mention that the free license for TSPrint only lasts for 25 days. To obtain a full license, find the Terminal Works folder in the start menu and click on “TSPrint License Registration”.
In the window that appears, you can:
- Load a license file.
- Buy a license.
- See the number of connected users.
Part 3 – Configure license settings
NOTE: Once you have completed all these steps, we recommend exiting the remote desktop and starting a new session to refresh the printer settings.
Now all that remains is to check that your mapped local printers appear on your remote desktop.
NOTE: If you cannot see your printers, it could be that the printer settings have not refreshed properly. Try exiting from the remote desktop and reconnecting.
