Without wanting to get into the tired old debate about whether streaming is now bigger than cinema, we certainly can’t deny the way that series have become so popular and something of a cash cow for streaming platforms<\/a>. And this rise in popularity has had as much impact on quality as it has on quantity<\/strong>, as seen in the spiralling artistic and technical costs to produce these series.<\/p>\n

As if this weren’t enough (even though many series have been criticised for being «written by an algorithm»), there are a growing number of productions <\/strong>that cater for all tastes and interests. Aside from the classic genres of adventure, science-fiction, horror and comedy, the last decade has seen the emergence of much more niche sub-genres, including shows focused on technology and computing.
